Typical Day

12 am: Still awake. Started reading Ludlum's old thriller. Or re-re-reading Harry Potter 6. Getting desperate to sleep.

12.30 to 1am: Probably snoring. The wifey's probably planning on smothering me with a pillow.

6 am: Alarm's ringing. Wifey's already in another room with the baby. Perhaps a little irritated with Addie (or me) for her sleepless night. Pressed the snooze button.

6.09 am: Snooze button.

6.18 am: Snooze button.

7 am: I'll need another alarm clock. Showered, ate breakfast, watched the morning news.

Before 8 am: Driving 3.1 miles to work.

8 am: Working. :)

10 am: Still working. (In case my boss reads this.)

10.30 am: Went home for lunch and to watch over Addie. The Wifey has a doctor's appointment.

11.30am: Back at the office. Routine.

6 pm: At home. Playing with Addie. (The Wifey went to church to help out with VBS.) Addie was banging her head on the wall. She liked the sound she's making.  She laughed, cried, twisted and turned on the bed. She pooped. Ewww, pasosi, the smell.

8 pm: Wifey's back. Asked her to change Addie's diaper. (Yup. Two hours after the fact.)

12 am: Still awake...

Brokeback Mountain

Let's do something different. I'll do a running commentary on the movie that I'm watching with the wifey. Great camera shots of the mountains.  Great cinematography! Wait ... WHAT!?! Those cowboys are... No! @#$&# AAARGH!!!!

Eragon and Norma Rae

I love the book. Can't wait for the last installment from this young writer. The next Tolkien. Imaginative. Not here to talk about the book, though.
The wifey rented the Eragon DVD this afternoon. The movie sucked. Big time. It wasn't even that long. One and a half hours and it felt forever watching it. Except for Jeremy Irons, who died early, everyone else was horrible. The special effects were ok but after the Lord of the Rings Trilogy people would expect more from this genre.

Wasted two bucks. 1/2 star out of five

Borrowed "Norma Rae" from the Book Mobile and watched it last weekend with the wifey. A story about a union organizer from New York and his first convert Norma Rae (Sally Field). I always love it whenever the movie location is in the South. Loved the accent, hated the racism. Anyway, this is the only Hollywood movie about unions that I have seen and I enjoyed it a lot. This is about the plight of the textile workers in the South and their struggle for better working conditions. Great movie. 4 stars out of five.

Father's Day ... Not quite a wii day

The wifey is so sweet today. She's nuts about holidays like this. She was in  such a swell mood that she went out of the house to search for a Nintendo Wii as a surprise gift for me.
Curse you Nintendo!!!
(Mis)Quoting Mel Gibson: "My one chance, just one chance," of owning the wii and they don't have it at Best Buy or Shopko. Aaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!! She wasn't even that generous on my birthday when all I got was a ? Can't even remember if she gave me anything last January. I can forgive her because she was about a week away from giving birth to our daughter.
Do I have to wait for another father's day? Wait for my blog next year. :)

Bitter. Sweet.

Bitter:

Lost our Ate Liza to cancer last Feb 13. I wanted to write a decent eulogy for her but I won't. Can't. She's one of the kindest, sweetest person that has ever lived and a stupid blog entry won't be enough to describe her. 'Nuff said.

Sweet!

Alexis Danielle Padilla arrived in this world kicking and screaming last January 18.

W: 7lbs, 2 ounces H: 20.5 inches. So cute. So little. Oh. She looks a lot like her dad. :)

The wifey is still fat.

Nintendo Wii

The wifey is seven months pregnant today. The picture was taken THREE months ago! Now, she's bigger and moodier (and still oh-sexy ; in case, she reads this blog). Me? I'm still big and moody and a little poorer. Babies R Us should make us part owners with all the baby stuff we bought from that store.

Nintendo Wii? It's coming out in a couple of weeks. I don't think I can afford it in a couple of years. I still need to convince the wifey that our child's college education is secondary only to Mario and Luigi. $250 for a console! And the PS3 costs twice as much!
